Dr. Ghafoori, M.D.

Biography:

Dr. Ghafoori is Board-Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She graduated cum laude undergraduate from the University of Southern California (Los Angeles) and with Honors from the University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (San Francisco.) She completed her general surgery residency at Emory University School of Medicine (Atlanta) and her plastic surgery residency at University of California, San Francisco School of Medicine (San Francisco.)

Dr. Ghafoori currently holds hospital privileges at the following centers: Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas; Valley Baptist Valley Baptist Medical Center - Brownsville, Brownsville, Texas; Cornerstone Hospital, Edinburg, Texas; Edinburg Regional Hospital, Edinburg, Texas; and The Doctor's Hospital at Rennaisance, Edinburg, Texas.

Dr. Ghafoori has held the following hospital appointments: Board of Trustees, Golden Palms Retirement and Health Center, Harlingen, Texas (2003-2006); Medical Director, Department of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas (1999-2007); Medical Director, Utilization/Management and Documentation, Valley Baptist Medical Center - Harlingen, Texasa (2004-2007); Chief of Surgery, Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas (2002-2005); Board of Directors, Valley HealthCare Network, Harlingen, Texas (1999-2007: as Vice Chair 2000-2007); and Vice President, Medical Board, Valley Baptist Medical Center, Harlingen, Texas (2007). She has also served on numerous hospital committees, as Clinical Professor for the Regional Academic Health Center - UTHSCSA (2001-2006), and as a public member of the Texas State Bar Grievance Committee, District 12B (2004-2007). She currently is a physician reviewer for the Texas Medical Foundation (2004-Present). In addition, Dr. Ghafoori has published three research papers in peer-reviewed medical journals.
